Tips to Integrate Android and VoIP Together

Spread the love

As things stand now, the marriage of Android and VoIP has been more successful than the integration of the VoIP and the iOS based iPhones.  In fact, as per the statistics, VoIP on the Android based smartphones has been performing astoundingly. Android is a much superior platform for the VoIP apps than the iPhones. While everyone knows that the quality of the applications and the sheer variations in which they come up makes them so much hit, when it comes third party applications the treatment is not as good as it is for the native applications.

There are a number of VoIP apps which are custom built to be used on Android platform to integrate Android and VoIP together. Let us look into them.

Bolt:

This is a relatively newer VoIP App that runs on Android. It comes up with a very sleek, modern design, which offers a seamless combination of messaging as well as calling utilities, under the umbrella of a single app.  Bolt automatically switches the phone to the VoIP Mode, when a user of Bolt dials the other Bolt users. Another thing that is special about Bolt is that as soon as one makes a call by using Bolt, the phone by default switches on to a default minute.

Kakao Talk:

This particular app cannot be regarded as a dedicate VoIP service. It is basically, a messaging service. Anyway, this is an astounding app, which is worth of downloading. The app comes up with an in built voice app, which uses the data plan and the talk feature of the app works particularly well, when the caller as well as the receiver are located in the same region. However, the performance of the app largely depends upon the data speed of the net at any given point of time.

Skype:

This is a tried and tested VoIP app that runs superb on Android and the number of users of this app simply states its success and popularity as a VoIP app. The USP of the app is that it runs superbly on the modern Android devices and also comes up with a fancy interface, along with a clean and user friendly dialer. The service when used via Wi Fi comes in free of cost when fellow Skype members are called, though for calling people on landlines and mobile numbers, the users need to have a certain amount of money in their Skype account.

Viber:

In terms of functionality and getup, Viber has striking similarity with the Kakao Talk.  Viber is an extremely popular messaging app, which offers the users, the unique privilege of making VoIP calls over their data plans.  One of the most appreciable advantages of Viber is its lightning speed, especially when it comes to setting up the phone for making calls. Also, Viber has the unique capacity of automatically scanning the contract lists, and showing the name of the people who already own Viber and use it. As usual, making calls to other Viber users come free of cost like Skype.

There are a number of other VoIP based apps that run astoundingly on Android. In fact, as told earlier, Android is more suitable platform for the VoIP apps than the iOS, mainly because of its better app management, Widget on home and the lock screens, a comprehensive interface customization, transit directions ably explained in maps, and user friendly way of split screen multitasking, individual profiles for users on tablets, and more security options for phone than iOS. Apart from that, all these VoIP based apps made Android make a more lucrative platform that the iOS.
