Tips For Fresh Technical Graduate

This is a very crucial time when one student just make his graduation from his school. In most of the cases they want to join for a job.But as they are totally fresh, because of lack of experience many companies do not hire them. So, they face a lot of difficulties. This happens mostly for the technical guys.

The technical graduates face this problem seriously if they do not have any previous experience or training. So, the tips for fresh technical graduate to deal with the job offers is very difficult. The technical graduates must have some extra skill to manage a job in a technical company or related to their field. If they have previous part-time working experience in a company or they have a good internship program done then the change for them is high to get a job.But who do not have proper training or proper internship and facing a lot of problem to manage a job, i am suggesting some important points for them.

1. At First Prepare Yourself For A Job:

Yes, what i think from my point of view is that you must need to prepare yourself for a job. If you are going to do a technical job then you must need to do the technical things. So, you must need to know those things. This is true that all the things are not taught in a school class or laboratory. But you must need to decide in which field you want to compete or fight. There are a lot of fields. You need to decide your own field and you need to learn almost everything in that line.

For an example, if you are an IT Graduate then you must have interesting in Programming language or in Networking. Now you need to decide in which area you are going to compete or you will love to work.According to that you need to train yourself. If you choose programming then you must need to do course of C,C++,Java or Oracle or any other language in which you have interest. If you have interest in networking  then you need to complete the course of CCNA or CCNP and you need to get certified. You also need to prepare your CV accordingly.

If you are a student from Telecommunication background then you need to do some basic course on Telecommunication. So that you can handle one BTS (Base Transceiver Station) and other equipment in telecommunication field.

This type of courses will provide you confidence and you will be able to tell the job provider or the HR manager with confidence that you know this things well and you can do work on those fields.

So, my suggestion is before applying for any position in technology field at first do some basic course and get enough knowledge on those and this will help you to gather a lot of confidence. You will also not face any problem in the real working world.

2. Try to Prepare A Professional and To-the-point CV or Resume:

In most of the cases what the fresh graduate do is they just choose one CV sample randomly from the internet.Edit that CV a bit and start applying with that CV which is not customized properly and also do not reflect you in the CV.So, the job provider gets confused and the result of confusion is not selecting you for the job.

So, be very choosy and show patience while preparing your CV for a particular job.Like if you are applying for a Transmission Engineer and in the career objective you are telling that “you will love to teach in a creative environment” then it does not make any sense.

Be very specific and make a brief CV of yours. As a fresh graduate in most of the cases you will be not having any previous work experience (either you did any part-time job before). But job seekers love to see an experience in your CV.So, how to convince them though you do not have any previous experience. Now your technical training and certification come in action.Showing the certificates to the job seeker you can make them convince that you know these things and you are able to do this job.

In you skill part try to reflect from the job advertisement that you almost know all the works that has been asked from the job seekers side. The job seekers requirement is the top priority. If they ask for MySQL and you are writing in your CV that you know C programming then this is not fruitful.

3. Do Not Miss To Write One Cover Letter:

Many fresh graduate do not know that what is “Cover Letter. Some people know what is cover letter but they do not use it properly. So, you must be very serious while writing a cover letter. This is the first thing which one job seeker will see from at first and decide whether you will be called for the interview or not.

So, always include one cover letter with your CV while applying for a job position.Try to mention the points about why you think that you are appropriate for this job. What skills and qualities you have.Be very careful about the grammar.

At the end put your signature and date.

If you are applying for a job through web or online or sending a mail for applying a job then use the mail body to write the cover letter and attach the CV with the email.Be very formal while sending the mail.No personal conversation in the mail.

4. Tips For Applying For  A Job Through Email:

Sometimes you go to know about a job through one online Job advertisement site or the instruction is to send your CV online to an email address. In this case use the mail body to write the cover letter.

Always attach the CV with the mail and make sure that your CV is in pdf format. So that no one can edit your CV.In your CV also include one signature of yours by scanning and putting it in the file. Also put one picture on the top of the CV and attach it together.

Do not attach the picture of yours separately.Do not use bold texts or any colorful text and emoticons.Do not address the job seeker with hi or bye.

5. Start Job With You Area Of Interest:

If you are not in an emergency position then wait for the job which suites your area of interest.Because if you choose a job which of out of track, you will not be able to use the experience further when you will choose a new job which is related to your field of interest. If you are from engineering background and you choose a job which is related to administration then when you will switch to a new job, you will not be able to use this previous work experience. So, be very conscious about that.Try to apply the jobs which matches your field of interest.

6. Salary Matters A Little:

We all know that we work for salary. But when you are joining as a fresher then you must not give the salary as the highest priority.Rather make it secondary and if the job is related to your field then there is no problem to join it.At first try to learn how to work and when you already know how to work you will get a lot of option in front of you.

The above tips are from practical experience.Try to think about all the points i mentioned and make a decision according to your decision. If you think that this is helping you then please share this so that it will also help others.Your comment will inspire me to write more. So, leave a comment.
