Hand Out Your Business Cards:

For anyone to recognize your business, you need to have a business card. Although they seem to be old fashioned, they still help you in promoting your business or blog. Take the help of a graphic designer to design your card. Makes sure your card carries your blog logo, URL and concept on it. Once you are comfortable with the design, start printing your business cards. Start with small number of cards first. If you can’t afford for printing cards through a local merchant, you can get it done through online websites which offer printing and delivery service for reasonable prices.

Once you get your cards, hand out them to people you come across in day-to-day life. This lets them know your blogging activity. Whole process of business card doesn’t require much investment, so why not give it a try.

Design Promotional Desktop Wallpapers:

It’s very easy and the only thing you need is Adobe Photoshop software. Simply download some amazing pictures from internet. Make sure all those images are copyright free. Use Photoshop to mix those images and create new desktop wallpaper. Add your blog logo, name and URL at the bottom of the wallpapers as credits.

Create around 10 – 20 different wallpapers like this that fits on different desktop sizes. Set them as desktop wallpapers on your friend’s and relative’s computers. If your wallpapers are really attractive, more people will share it. Upload them on Facebook also for more exposure. So this way you can promote your blog.

Industry Events:

One best way to promote your blog in your niche is to participate in industry events. This allows you to discuss your blog with the audience who are interested in its subject matter. It is also a great way to introduce yourself with authorities in your niche. Don’t forget to carry along your business cards to make an impression on potential audience.

Target the Real World Recipients of Your Blog:

You need to focus on people who are truly interested in your blog that you’ve never met before. If your blog is about surfing, then discuss about this with the surfers you ride at the beach. If your blog covers local restaurant, then discuss it with the restaurant owners you know. Wherever your blog can connect with real world recipients, you need to let them know about it.

Organize Short Seminars:

This is my favorite tip. Try to organize short seminars related to your blog’s topic in your local educational institutions or conference halls after getting the approval from the respective authorities. While speaking in the seminar, mention about your blog also. Hangout some banners in entrance path of the seminar venue, indicating that your blog is sponsor of this seminar.

Write for Local Newspaper and Magazine:

Although newspapers are a conventional method of advertising, they are still very well accepted and writing an article for a newspaper or a magazine is an excellent free way to build credibility online. You may find it difficult to access the popular publications to pick up the story, but you should do well with more locale papers. Getting a story published in local publications gives you an opportunity to reach out to an entirely different set of audience.

Word of Mouth Publicity:

This is one of the great free publicity  There are many bloggers who keep their blogging a secret for their own reasons. It is hard for anyone to put out there and shout, “I have a blog.” But you are not aware of who or when you could meet a new individual. As and when you get in touch with your friends and relatives, tell them about your blogs. These people are your ardent supporters and promoters. Your readership spreads quickly simply by word of mouth.
