Spread the love

Most of the internet users are already familiar with the feature which is when Google Chrome asks the user to save password. Some users do not like the feature but for some users, it is really helpful because they do not have to type the password again and again. This feature can save a lot of time. But what if your Google Chrome has Stopped asking you for password for a website login? Yes, this is a legit problem and I have faced this problem and solved this. I am going to write this article from my personal experience.

Scenario 1: Check Your Google Chrome Settings First:

If the Google Chrome browser is not asking for your password, please check your Google Chrome settings first.

Click on the 3 dots on the top right hand side corner of your browser. Then click on “Settings” and then click on “Advanced” and click on “Managed Passwords”.

At first check here if this is enabled for your or not. If it is not enabled, enable it and click your browser and try. Then the Google Chrome will ask for password.

Scenario 2: This may happen that at the very beginning, the browser asked for password but you have clicked on “Never” for which the website is saved under the tab “Never Saved”. If it is like that, you will get that list of websites from below:

In these cases, what you will have to do is to remove that website from the list and close and open your browser again. If it still does not come up with the Password saving option, just set the Auto Sign-in feature enabled and try again. It should work.

Scenario 3: This may happen that you are unable to turn on the feature at all. Then to enable it you will have to follow the below steps:

At fist click Windows+R and then type regedit and then you will have to go to the below location:

Now, on the right hand side, you will have to click on “PasswordManagerEnabled” and set the value to 1. Then press ok. Close your Google Chrome browser and next time it will ask for password.
