WordPress Plugin to Add Multiple Author Under Same Profile

Spread the love

Today i am going to describe about the WordPress plugin to add multiple author under same profile. If you have a blog and you are accepting a lot of guest post then this plugin is going to help you a lot to add all the author bio for your guest authors.Because this is very disturbing to add an author profile in WordPress when one new post comes. Also this is very disturbing for the guest author also to create multiple profile if they need a backlink from the author bio each time.

As my blog accepts a lot of guest post, i was also facing the problem, because each time one guest author was posing one article and a backlink is needed from author bio, it was a big problem for me. So, i was searching on the internet for a good number of time and suddenly got this solution for free. Thanks to ‘Bleeping tech” for mentioning about his plugin. But after installing the plugin, i was also facing problem to display it. So, i thought it will be very helpful for those bloggers who are facing the same problem.

The name of the plugin that i am talking about is “Custom About Author” plugin.Below are the steps about how to install the plugin and how to add multiple author in the same profile:

1. You can download and upload the plugin manually from “Custom About Author” plugin page (thanks to Little Handy Tips to release the plugin for bloggers.) or you can also install the plugin just by going to your plugin option in WordPress dashboard and after searching it you can install it automatically.

2. After installing the plugin you will get one option under the tab “Users” in your dashboard, which is named as “Custom Authors“.

3. Then you need to click on “Custom Authors” and you will get one screen like below:

Where you will find one option named “Add new“, which means that you need will be able to add one “Custom Author” under your profile or any profile through which you have signed in.

You will be able to read more about WordPress Twenty Eleven theme customization tips and tricks in my other post; which will be very helpful if you want to spice up your blog with different style.

4. After clicking on it you will get the screen where you need to enter the information for your custom author profile. Add your information and then click on “Add New User“. Now your custom author is added.

5. Now if you want to show it after the bottom of each single post in your blog, then you need to set the “Global Setting” as “Single Post” and after setting like this, you will be able to display the “Custom Author Bio” after single post. You need to set this like below:

6. After this step, if you think that you are done, then this is not right. You still need to do a couple of step to display the custom bio correctly without any bug. Up to the 5th stage i described you how to add one custom author  and what is the setting to add it under single post. But How to add it under each single post? So, to know this please read step 7.

7. In this step you need to look for one short code. You need to click “Edit” on any of your custom author profile and you will get one short code like below picture and you need to add this short code at the end of the post.

8. Now after adding this you will see that below the post two profiles are showing. One is the main profile and another one is the custom profile. Now how to solve this problem? To look for the solution of this problem please read step 9.

9. In this step look for the “Screen Options” on the “Add New Post” screen where you write your post which is in the upper right corner just left to “Help“. Click on it and enable “Custom Fields” option. The screen will be like below:

10. Now you will see one field named “Custom Field” is added below your post screen. There you need to add one new custom field named as “post-author” and in the value box just write the user name of your custom author. Just like the below screen and now click “Add Custom Filed” and you are done!

I am sure that if you follow the above steps, you will successfully be able to show the custom author box under single post which is written by your custom author. If you still face any problem then just let me know through comments or you are welcome to contact me personally.
