Samsung Galaxy S3: The Best Galaxy Yet!

Spread the love

The Samsung Galaxy GS3 was perhaps this most widely anticipated Android phone release to date. It has been out for quite a while now and has received some rave reviews. Critics and fans alike admit that the latest in the heralded Galaxy series offers great specs, functional performance, a sleek design, and competitive pricing. Though the Galaxy S3 is one of the finest phones on the market, but it does fall behind a couple of competitors in some key categories.

Samsung_Galaxy_gs3Pros:

The Samsung Galaxy S3 employs the latest Google Android Ice Cream Sandwich technology

Has a powerful and fast dual-core processor

  • 8 megapixel camera
  • Sleek design
  • Competitive price

Cons:

  • Bad screen lighting
  • S-Voice is no contender to Apple’s Siri
  • Large size

The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes equipped with the groundbreaking Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich technology. Fully loaded with Google’s suite of apps, the S3 can do just about anything required of it, and the powerful dual core processor ensures the fast deliver-ability of all content. However, the latest addition, S-Voice, is inferior to Apple’s Siri. The S-Voice feature was a valiant attempt at copying Siri technology, but it has fallen short.

The Galaxy S3 is very sleek and features an appealing high-gloss finish in white, blue or black. It is also the thinnest smart phone on the market. This may be appealing to some, but it is not as sturdy as the iPhone’s steel wrapped frame, and can be damaged quite easily. The size is another issue. Samsung seems to like producing phones that are almost the size of notebooks. The 5.4” screen may provide better viewing, but it can be impractical. It seems awkward in a pocket and takes up more room in purse.

The 8 megapixel camera that comes equipped on the Samsung Galaxy S3 is one of the finest phone cameras on the market. It takes clear pictures that can be easily blown up to portrait size. Though not a professional grade camera capable of blowing up photos to poster size, it can easily replace the need to use a standard camera for most occasions. In fact, the only phone on the market that has a better camera is the Nokia Pureview, but it is more utilitarian and lacks the functionality of the Galaxy S3.

Samsung swung for the fences and managed a solid triple. Though it is one of the finest phones on the market, it does have a few issues. The thin sleek design may be light and visually appealing, but it is more easily prone to scratches and damage. The S-Voice feature was a sad attempt at mimicking Apple’s Siri technology. However, the S3 offers a fast processor, the best Android platform available, and one of the finest phone cameras to date. Though slightly flawed, The Samsung Galaxy S3 would be a terrific phone for just about anyone.
