Time and again, I have continuously preached on the benefits of mastering a second language. Truly, one can do so many things with it. While it is highly possible to make a serious career from language skills, it is also equally possible to make a quick buck out of it. Plenty of online entrepreneurs are cashing in on their different skills by offering various services online. Since knowing a second language is also a skill, then there is no reason why those who know one (or two) cannot capitalize on the same thing. If you’ve been wanting to apply your language skills, here are ways that you can do it using the Internet and online market:

1. Teach a foreign language via the internet- If you do a random search online, you’ll find that there are so many people out there looking for competent language teachers online. Obviously, for these people, learning online is the most practical way that they can think of to learn a new language, so do capitalize on that. There are many ways that people can learn a language online. They can have one-on-one lessons with their teacher via Skype, then there are those that prefer to do it via chatting. Still, there are others who may require their language teachers to give them modules or exercises via the internet. If you want to break into this career path, select what kind of lessons you would like to offer, and start responding to ads whose requirements you meet.
2. Upload Language Lessons on Youtube- If you’re somewhat confident in front of the camera, then a Youtube career may be n the works for you. There have been so many “ordinary netizens” who have made much success working and partnering with Youtube. Apparently, Youtube has this policy wherein every video view makes the uploader some money. If you create language videos that are not only educational, but entertaining and fun as well, then you should be able to get some revenue as viewership for this grows.
3. Offer transcription and translation services- There are plenty of foreign documents that need to be translated in English. There are also many companies that are willing to pay premium rates for this kind of work to be completed online. If you’re pretty confident that you will be able to translate or transcribe these documents accurately, then you should really try to contact these online translation companies and see if there are any job openings. If you do not want to work under a company, you can also easily offer your transcription and translation services independently on forums, message boards, white pages, or classified ad sites.

These are just some of the few opportunities to anyone who is fluent in another language and has access to a computer and the Internet. Truly, the possibilities out there are endless.
