Latest TV Technologies Used for Modern Television

Spread the love

Television is the most popular medium for entertainment in our lives. Almost every household owns a TV or two. Most people a TV each for bedroom, living room and some idiots have a TV in the bathroom. After working the whole day in office, we sit in front of our TV with a beer in hand and chill. Men mostly watch news and SPORTS, yeah we men love sports. While women prefer soap operas and kids tend to watch CARTOON. Every day the world is evolving and technology is touching the sky. The latest TV technologies are advanced. So much that if a guy travels back from 2000 to 2014 he will think he is in another century. The good old CRT’s are as good as extinct. LCD and LED are the new kings of televisions. I miss the old TV that my dad bought in the 90’s and now I don’t have the same feelings with the Sony Bravia I own. We all know slim is the new sexy and it applies both for women and TVs. There are thousands of TV channels these days with so much to offer. And the picture qualities of the latest TV’s are so frigging realistic and then there is 3D TV. Samsung, Sony, LG and Panasonic are four of the top brands in the World.

Why don’t I get you up to date with the latest TV technology?

We used to have big fat box televisions know as CRT and it was more than enough for me. I watched Popeye the Sailor and ate my vegetables to be strong like him. But now it’s the generation of flat screens known as LCD, LED, OLED and Plasma TV etc. The picture quality has improved drastically over the years. These days you can buy Huge televisions and by huge I mean the size of the scree is way over 50 inches. It’s not for guys like me because I’m happy with 42”. You can probably turn your home into a theatre if you have one of those giant flat screens. You can also buy a touchscreen TV if you want to.

You can read a nice article which states about the difference between LED and LCD televisions in my blog.

You can play games on your TV using XBOX, Nintendo, and Play Stations. Some latest televisions have inbuilt games. These games come in high definition and latest TV technologies are a match for it.

There is this HD TV which supports the highest HD quality videos and movies. They also created UHD a.k.a ultra HD. What is Ultra HD? Simple HD was good enough. You can use universal remotes and I read somewhere u can control your TV via phone.

Smart TVs have extra stuffs like the internet. You can use Facebook, Skype, YouTube and other apps. Use can connect your TV with other devices like computer or laptop via HDMI cable. You can also use USB devices such as Pen Drives or memory cards. Most of us we don’t need these stuffs. But if your rich and have desires of showing off you definitely need these features.

I don’t think talking about DVD players and cable boxes are necessary.

3D TV

The latest TV technology is the invention of 3D TV. Watching movies in 3 dimensions is awesome. But there are not many 3d contents. You don’t worry about contents because 3d TV can be used as a 2D TV too. 3D televisions are the most modern version of television. You have to wear 3D glasses as you do in cinemas to watch 3D movies on your 3D TV.

In future we might have different kind of televisions. I’m betting of holographic displays. And the 3D TV will get more and more developed and there will be much more 3D movies. The best TV’s come with a high price tag. But if you choose the carefully it is worth your money. And there is pocket TV too (like in the movie Rain Man).

I think that you are bored reading all this ……….

Why don’t you go and watch some TV.
